Swans’ standoff with the Tigers

25 November 2023, will not live long in the memory of Swansea and Hull City supporters as both of their clubs drew 2-2 at the Swansea.com Stadium.
On a very cold day in South West Wales both clubs gave it all they had, Hull started the better side on the front foot looking dangerous and causing Swansea all sorts of problems with the pace of the wingers, with all that pressure Swansea lost Harrison Ashby (who was playing at right back) to what looks like a hamstring injury.
Shortly after injury to Ashby and with the first meaningful attack from Swansea, on the 17th minute, Jamie Patterson was found down the right wing after a brilliant flick by Oliver Cooper, Patterson cut inside his man and rifled the ball with his left foot passed the Hull goalkeeper to make it 1-0 to the Swans. The goal gave Swansea a lift and they had a few more chances with Jamal Lowe heading wide after some good work by Oliver Cooper to pick him out with a cross.
Midway through the first half Swansea were gifted a second goal after the Hull goalkeeper spilled a long range effort by Jamie Patterson which Jerry Yates pounded on, like the mouse that he is (and yes I did just reference Tom and Jerry, the kid's cartoon).
With Hull 2-0 down and getting close to half time, they regrouped, with a few shots which kept the Swans keeper Carl Rushworth on his toes, but Swansea were able to keep the tigers at bay to preserve their 2 goal lead at half time.
Hull made 2 changes at half time as they brought on former Swansea player Cyrus Christie aswell as Jason Lokilo, (I don't know much about him). As most Swans fans know former players always have to be involved with goals against them and this time is was Cyrus Christie who played in former Cardiff player Jaden Philogene whose rocket of a shot flew into the net before Rushworth was able to set himself to give Hull a lifeline back into the game. As the flat atmosphere in the Swansea.com Stadium got even flatter, Hull had a goal ruled out for offside as the Tigers clawed their way through the second half to find a equaliser. They eventually managed to catch their pray as they found the equaliser this time from Tyler Morton who volleyed the ball past Rushworth after another Cyrus Christie assist.
As time ticked down towards the 90th minute, the game got a bit scrappy with both sides looking to go for the win, with Carl Rushworth called into action after making a few saves before the game ended with a score draw of 2-2, which means both teams earn 1 point each which keeps Hull in the chase for a potential play off place and Swansea mid table.
